Who We Are
One Step Transitional Home Ministry, Inc is an organization that provides transitional housing and life skill training for young men and women. We offer assistance to youth, who may be homeless, as they move from dependent foster care and group homes to independent and self-sufficient lifestyles.
Founded in 2002 by Bishop Leon McClain, One Step Transitional Home Ministry Inc. has been aiming to provide transitional housing to young people of ages 18 to 21, along with various mentoring programs for younger youth, for nearly 20 years. Our Creative Learning Division is a tax-exempt not-for-mentoring organization that pairs volunteers with at-risk youth.
One Step Transitional Home Ministry, Inc. is committed to ministering to the religious, charitable, educational, and literary needs of the youth of our society today who have no other alternative – we intend that they may be transformed into whole, functioning members of the community. We intend to meet our objective by providing:
1) Assistance in the Educational Process
2) Guidance and support in Vocational Preparation
3) Moral and spiritual support on a one-on-one, and community support basis.
4) Transitional Home for Youth who are aging out of Department of Social Services (DSS) custody.
